Here are the first pictures of Caxton's internal paintwork. The ceiling (I am sure that there is a boaty term for that but it eludes this land lubber) is to be white/ivory to reflect light and the panels above the gunwales will be colour washed. Here the ceiling and wall panels have been blinded with several coats of primer. Here the colour has been started. The flash has lightened the colour, it is actually more a duck egg blue (Crown emulsion, Stepping stone). The fire boards have also been fitted and the fire placed in order to cut the hole for the flue.

The proper term for ceiling is deckhead. But I prefer ceiling!
Thank .you Adam
Will the boys be getting matching duck egg collars? And whatever you do, don't let them shake themselves in that saloon or it'll be mottled duck egg!
Ah yes ducks..and their eggs. The boys haven't really met any ducks as yet, or geese, or swans, or fishermen and their sandwiches. I can imagine Floyd, duck in mouth hurtling towards the boat with Fletcher on his heels with a purloined spam butty. Can we plan on a quick getaway do you think?

I once walked a friend's labrador along the towpath and got into strife when the (black!)lab dived in and scoffed a great mouthful of maggots! I haven't offered to walk a lab since!

ps. of course, I'm sure that F & F would never do anything like that....

I am sure that the boys would give maggots a wide berth but the 'pack-ps' would be oh so tempting...
