Tearing around

Above a picture of Caxton cruising under the lovely Stourport bridge on Friday and below, Charlie Chugs helping with the last of the packing; his comfort 'blankie' which is NOT going with us.Today and tomorrow we are tearing around doing the last minute things like paying the paper bill and cancelling the papers, getting hair cuts, selecting and packing clothes, one bag each, clearing out the remnants of the freezer - the dogs are in for some interesting meals in the next two days, they like salmon and lasagna and anything that can even vaguely be categorised as food, they're Labradors after all.
By tomorrow night we should be all set for our return to Stourport on Wednesday morning but for now I have had enough and a glass of vino beckons...

Lesley,
Glad to hear that the launch went off OK and that you will shortly be off on your adventures. Spare a thought for Starcross, stuck in the paint dock at Norton Canes!

Best Wishes

Jim

Not taking his comfort 'blankie' - how will he manage?????
Mind you, life on the water may be so relaxing that he doesn't need it any more!
Good luck with the move.

Hi Jim
I look forward to seeing the refurbished Starcross - Dave Moore did us proud and I am sure you will also be delighted with his workmanship.

Hi Sue
Dragging a blanket around the house is a behaviour Floyd has learnt from his big brother Fletcher - it can work in the house, but two blankets, two potentially wet blankets, in the confines of narrowboat is not to be condoned I'm afraid.

Phone the RSPCA - that woman wants to take your blankets away! We're with you, brothers, and give you permission to start dragging their duvet round!

Thanks for the support Grey guys but you heard what happened the last time we misbehaved - the little trip to the vet, the return home home minus our tackle - we are on bestest behaviour until we see the lie of the land, know what we mean... can't afford to lose anything else

She's already emptied your pockets boys-there's nothing more she can do;no blankie? then it has to be the duvet. Baxter & Muttley on Matilda Rose

Hi Baxter and Muttley
We will have to be quick or we will get caught on her laptop, the mud jammed in the keyboard could be a give away though.
Herself is beginning to feel guilty about the blanket deprivation so we are getting a reprieve though it is likely to be a very SMALL blankie.
Stay on touch lads, Fletcher and Floyd Labrador

We support the Blankie Two! What do we want? Bigger blankies! When do we want them? NOW!

It's funny how doggie tales (especially tragic tales!) seem to attract more comments than any other subject.......

The reasons for so many comments is that there is a small group, a small select group, in this blogging community that are simply 'barking' - I am of course one of them and I believe you can count yourself as a member along with the other five star member, Greygal. It seems Jill from NB. Matilda Rose, or at least Muttley and Baxter, have also applied for membership. I look forward to the inaugural meeting of the group early next year - now we need a name..

Any advances on the Mutts Nutts?

Moving into a strange home they'll give you h... if they're deprived of their cuddle blanket.

Even now, at 14, 4 and 2 our Labs winge and fidget after being fed in the evening on the boat until we take notice and pull their cuddles out of the locker. Thence PEACE til proper bedtime.

Be warned!

Excuse me, but may I add to this thread - I disagree wholeheartedly that the doggy club should be called 'Mutts Nuts' I am a 'laaady', and have never had any nuts - removed or otherwise!! I would love to become a member though, please, please, prettyplease with chocolate sprinkles on top!!
Big licks to all the other members, and you can sniff my bottom if you let me sniff yours!!!
