Memories are made of this - Shobnall Marina

On Tuesday, after the successful Tesco Delivery at The Bridge Inn Branston, Joe and I, plus Fletcher and Floyd, walked back into Burton along a snow covered tow path. We were heading for Jannel Boat services at Shobnall Marina to buy a flue brush. Jannel Cruisers no longer have a hire fleet although they still operate the marina. It was here in summer 1989 that we hired our very first narrowboat and got bitten by the bug. Twenty years later we are living on our own steel tub, who'd have believed it?

We bought the last flue brush but needless to say the shopping basket was added to; a Sea Searcher magnet, cord to attach to the magnet, a new Pearsons guide and a rope knife. The owner of the chandlery was really helpful and pleasant and it was well stocked.
