Builders Bulletin 3

We are off out today to order the new kitchen units, oven, hob, extractor and floor tiles. At the same time we will be ordering the new bathroom kit and 80 sq metres of loft insulation. Most of the ripping out is now completed leaving some serious clearing up to do on Monday when the 2nd skip is delivered. The electrician is selected and starts work on Wednesday to re-wire the tatty bungalow.
In the meantime, the tidy place we are currently living in looks as if it has been let already - we will release this when we have finished the refurbishment of project bungalow and moved back aboard Caxton. Talking of which... we are going to move Caxton up to Crick mid May and leave it in the tender hands of the Barn Owl team to prepare the boat for the Crick Boat Show.

Could see you on route then as we are aiming to take MR to Debdale for 14th May.

Hi MR Crew
I think we are aiming to move Caxton on the 16th-17th-18th May. Crick is 23rd-25th May so it looks as if we just overlap....bugger!

Long time no blog. Hope you're all well and thriving in the good weather. Don't work too hard.

Hi Sue
All well here but all our focus is on getting this 2nd bungalow refurbished and let. We have tenants for both properties and we anticipate them being let from
29th May - thereafter we are 'permanently' aboard Caxton!

Caxton is now at Crick, I didn't recognise the younger crew members, she passed us yesterday in Braunston and we passed her today at the top of Watford. Someone adjusted the headlamp in Crick tunnel and it now dazels oncoming boaters. It was following us through.

Hi Lesley
We met Joe but missed you! We are regular blog followers. Visited Caxton at Crick. What a fantastic boat. Joe took credit for all the lovely design features on your boat! Loved the colour inside, such a relief from all wood. And the dinette area- fantastic. Am stealing ideas! We are 4 or 5 years from actually being able to live our dream but have started looking as Del and Al from Derwent6, who also let us clamber around their boat, say it is worth allowing yourself plenty of planning time. Crick was brilliant as was the weather. I think we will try to do more IWA boat shows as you learn such a lot form people like yourselves who kindly let us open and close all your cupboards!!!

Many thanks

Amanda and David Lewis
