Apologies for the image - lifted from T-Mobile site
We have just bought the new T-Mobile wireless pointer for use with our mobile broadband. The advantage of this little baby over the 3 MiFi is it will take an external aerial. Joe has dismantled the Zoom we had been using and replaced it with the new T-Mobile pointer. So at one end of Caxton we have a T-Mobile WiFi and at the other a 3 WiFi....and in the middle, two whiffy dogs.

Hi - just to let you know that I purchased a T mobile device earlier this year before we went on our major summer cruise. It worked very well , providing much better signal strength than the vodaphone dongle I tried last year. I got a magnetic antenna from the boaters phone company which also worked really well. SO i can recommend both to you.

Hi
Sounds good; how does the speed compare with 3?
Cheers
Bruce
Thanks Andy, we dumped Vodafone as well - that might have been because of the tax fiddle they were working on GB though...

Hi Bruce
I will get Himself to answer that question as I am in the land of 'haven't a clue'..

Hi Bruce
I have now been told how to check broadband speeds and the results are:
3
D 2344 kbps
U 1297
T-Mobile
D 1104
U 1225
My laptop is currently 2' away from the 3 dongle and 50' away from the T-Mobile.

Thanks Lesley; not too far apart. I note that the Ofcom survey last year had T-mobile, Voda and 3 grouped together, with O2 a bit faster and Orange much slower.
Cheers
Bruce
Lesley, what's happening to you? You really must start getting out again! xx

Tell me about it...
