Moving on up - edited

We left Raynsway Marina yesterday just after 3pm and worked through Thurmaston Lock past the BW dredging crews and moored adjacent to King Lear Lake for the night; perfect mooring for the dogs as we were only yards away from brilliant dog walking...
Above a floating tableau - King Lear? - on the King Lear Lake at Thurmaston.

Up and at em at 9am this morning for a cruise to Barrow-on-Soar. The River Soar was just on amber, so safe to navigate with care. We arrived at Mountsorrel having run some pretty impressive weir streams to find that the river was now lapping the red; we tied up. Lunch in the Waterside Inn as a treat before Jill and I headed up into the village to find a hairdresser and the men cut up wood. Returning forty minutes later the River level had dropped back onto amber so we set out again. We pulled onto the Barrow-on-Soar services in the half light, filled with water and moved up to moor above Barrow Deep Lock in the dark. Lots of photo's but the signal is too poor to upload, maybe tomorrow...
