We travelled the couple of miles up from Alrewas to Fradley Junction yesterday morning. A drop in tempreture overnight had frozen the canal and most of the journey was through a slush -puppy of ice and canal water. 'Orace' here took some patient persuading before moving away from the lock gate and out of danger.
Caxton is moored on the services and while Joe and I go about our routine Fletcher and Floyd are busy demolishing knuckle bones - a treat that I didn't want them enjoying IN the boat.
We passed this way on our maiden voyage in Caxton in October when things were still pretty busy. Now all is rather quiet and there are plenty of moorings to be had on the Coventry turn, if not on the Trent & Mersey.
Just below Hunts Lock I spotted Huff & Puff a Fernwood Boat with the Art Deco interior. Below, a couple of places further along was Belle a fellow blogger. 
And here is The Old Bovine, our neighbour here at Fradley. Leon and Rae have lived aboard for the last six years and in the course of that time their boat has been stretched twice. Rae invited me aboard for a recce and it is a stunning boat, very traditional, very attractive with loads of charactor. In turn, Rae came on board Caxton and had a look at a boat that is in quite a different style.
