Ticking Boxes

Yesterday morning we, that will be myself, Fletcher, Floyd AND Joe, walked the five miles into Braunston leaving Caxton moored up above the top lock at Calcutt.  We wanted to look at the opportunities for longer term mooring given that we are going to be hanging about for ten days before Caxton is stretched. There was very little ice on the canal and the majority of the towpath was in good condition so all in all a pleasant walk.  Three Ownership boats passed us making their way to the marina ahead of this weekend.  When we arrived in Braunston we found a number of spaces on the 14 day moorings so we intend to bring Caxton through today and get settled before I go off to visit my Mother over the weekend.   Joe and the dogs will stay on Caxton.
We went and found Dave Thomas and then popped next door to AJ Canopies to discuss a new cratch cover and agree a price and then we arranged with the Marina to pitch our caravan during the time Caxton is being stretched. Boxes ticked.  We then recovered the car that had been left there for us by Graham and drove back towards Napton where we left it before walking back to Caxton.
