Winter Sun at Braunston

The quality of the light on a cold winter day is quite surreal and the Northamptonshire countryside just grabs your attention.  Above the double bridge over the Oxford canal at the Braunston Junction.

Ice covers the canal at the Admiral Nelson Lock.

I thought to walk up and look at the work underway to clear the landslip at the tunnel approach and repair the towpath but the towpath is closed and fenced off above the top lock so not even a glimpse athe progress so far.

Lovely crisp photos, Lesley. I particularly like the one of Braunston Turn.
