Up and at Em
We pulled pins at 8.30 this morning. I had assembled my folding bicycle and whizzed up the first five locks setting them all ready for our ascent before free wheeling down (avoiding two labradors of course) to open the first set of gates for Joe and Caxton. Once through the first lock I cracked the paddles again to empty the lock for Jill and Graham on Nb Matilda Rose. One hour and five minutes later we had got the first nine locks behind us, the bike was stored once more and I could walk at a more leisurely pace. We had a further four locks and two lift bridges to complete before mooring up adjacent to the Blue Bell Cider House at Warings Green. Here we plan to stay for the weekend.
