Hello St. Ives, nice to meet you...

We have just enjoyed two glorious days on the GOBA moorings at the Pike and Eel marina but this morning we pulled pins and headed towards St.Ives where we watered the boat and moved out of town a few yards on to the GOBA moorings at the edge of the town.  On our cruise south this morning we were blessed with a sighting of a  kingfisher, surprisingly the first since joining the R. Nene in May. Plenty of egrets, lapwings and grey herons though.
We had left the Old West River section of the Great Ouse on Wednesday passing through  Hermitage lock which took us out on to the tidal section of the R Gt Ouse at Earith.  Once we had watered Caxton we  pushed on towards Brownshill Staunch and the Pike and Eel moorings north of Holywell.  What a treat they were!  I will try and load  selection of photographes tomorrow, things are just hanging this evening and my patience is being sorely tried!

It would seem you have all the water where you are. Here we are moored overnight at Teul Lock in Sowerby Bridge having scraped our bottom along the Rochdale Canal from Hebden Bridge. Fingers crossed the lock keeper will let us go through tomorrow to the Calder and Hebble Navigation. Lovely to be back on board a boat again.

Hi you two
The water is down about a foot here but we haven't encountered any problems yet. I hope the top-up narrowboat fix has done the trick for you both.

Have you seen the Barn Owl Crick winner, Oakapple, yet?
